Skwer Jana Heweliusza w Gdańsku: Mural Mapa nieba północnego, Fontanna, Zegar Słoneczny Gdańsk

Skwer Heweliusza, położony między ulicami Korzenną, Bednarską i Rajską oraz Kanałem Raduni, wyłonił się ze zniszczeń w 1945 roku. Obszar ten dawniej zajmowała zabudowa, a obecnie stanowi miejsce reprezentacyjne.

W 1966 roku dodano fontannę z rzeźbą Korwety autorstwa Alfonsa Łosowskiego, zastępując zniszczoną Państwową Rzemieślniczą Szkołę Dokształcającą. W 1973 roku odsłonięto pomnik Jana Heweliusza.

W 2002 roku rozpoczęto modernizację skweru, usuwając fontannę, przemieszczając rzeźbę Fregaty i demontując pomnik Heweliusza, który został przeniesiony na ulicę Wodopój.

Po remoncie skwer został otwarty w 2003 roku, z nowymi trasami spacerowymi, oświetleniem, ławkami i trawnikiem. W 2006 roku ponownie odsłonięto pomnik Jana Heweliusza.

W październiku 2008 roku, przy ul. Bednarskiej 2, artysta Andrzej Dyakowski oraz studenci Akademii Sztuk Pięknych stworzyli sgraffito "Mapa Nieba Północnego" na fasadzie budynku. To złote konstelacje na burgundowym tle, zainspirowane Machina Coelestis Jana Heweliusza.

W 2014 roku, na skwerze, zastępując wcześniejszą fontannę z rzeźbą Alfonsa Łosowskiego, uruchomiono fontannę Heweliusza. Również w centralnej części skweru umieszczono zegar słoneczny, który jest usytuowany na wysokości Wielkiego Młyna.
